Our experience with greyhounds as pets both as a foster carer and dog trainer makes us the place to go to help your greyhound transition to pet life.
We offer greyhound only group training classes in Brisbane and now online, as well as one on one video calls.
Beginners – Video class
Come and join our exclusive “greyhound only” class to learn how to build a stronger bond with your hound and all the tips and tricks of living with these magnificent creatures.
Greyhounds come with a unique set of challenges when starting training so it’s important to learn from someone who knows.
Greyhounds are known as ‘breed snobs’ meaning they often ignore other dogs and feel most comfortable with their own kind. So if you are starting training, our classes are a welcoming and familiar environment for them to learn – surrounded by other greyhounds!
You will learn:
- how to get them moving again if they freeze
- how to help build their confidence
- how to stop unwanted behaviour
- how to read their body language
- place training
- basics of recall
- fun tricks like spin
- and so much more!
These classes are for greyhounds of all ages.
Location: Virtual video class
One on one training
Training in your home via video
If you can’t make it to class or have a hound that needs more help in their home environment then we offer one on one training in your home via video call. You no longer need to be in Brisbane to get the help you need.
We can tailor training to your needs that suit your hound and their day to day living.
We can help with:
- pulling on lead
- leash reactivity
- stop counter surfing
- general anxiety
- freezing on walks
- not listening
Have you recently adopted?
If you have just adopted your hound or are preparing to adopt and want to make sure you have all the knowledge needed to help them settle we offer a once off ‘Welcome home’ lesson.
We will provide you with all the information you need to ensure the transition into your home is smooth and as stress free as possible.
- where they came from and why it’s important to know
- greyhound behaviour
- why routine helps
- confidence building
- appropriate collar/harness options
This is a two hour, in home lesson to ensure the information provided is specific to your home. You will also be provided with a handy booklet to refer back to when needed.
Cody is a little anxious and I liked that personal space and respect is emphasised. It made me feel much better with Cody being anxious and with Harper as an impressionable puppy.
I love that we can go at our own pace and receive personalised advice. I really like that we had our own designated spaces to listen and train, and I like that Sue comes around to check in on us individually
I loved it when Cody was excited to go back each week! And Harper was still calm at the end of her first class.
Sue has helped us immensely! From working with my anxious dog in public spaces to understanding how my dogs played together at home. I would highly recommend her.
Max and I have learnt a lot from the class he now gets excited and loves training, now he is focused and happy to learn new things. And I am now able to make my training fun and exciting.
I would recommend Fellowship of the Paws to my friends and family.
Let’s get started!
Don’t wait another minute to start training and bring the peace, fun and love back to your relationship with your dog.
