Introduction to teaching your hound skills
In our exclusive “greyhound only” class you’ll learn how to build a stronger bond with your hound and tips and tricks of living with these magnificent creatures.
Greyhounds come with a unique set of challenges when starting training so it’s important to learn from someone who knows.
Greyhounds are known as ‘breed snobs’ meaning they often ignore other dogs and feel most comfortable with their own kind. So if you are starting training, our classes are a welcoming and familiar environment for them to learn – surrounded by other greyhounds!

Recall class
Yes you can teach your hound recall!
This class is suitable for any greyhound who has done our Foundations Class
Recall is one of the most sought after skills for most dog owners. For greyhounds, this can be even more challenging when you consider their inbuilt instinct and desire to chase. Their prey drive can kick in quickly and with their speed, there is no catching them!
Add to that their limited experience with engagement on lead and you can understand why people say greyhounds can’t recall.
But with consistency, understanding their motivations and lots of practice, you can teach your greyhound to recall to you.
This two week workshop has been developed to teach you how to have fun and communicate with your hound in a way that encourages them to recall to you every time.
Learn how to:
• Communicate with them through rewards and the lead
• Play games that introduce engagement and name recognition
• Set them up to succeed through consistency and management
• Introduce a long lead to their recall
• Manage your expectations when increasing distractions
This workshop is split over two weeks with a limit of 5 spots available to ensure everyone gets the help they need.
Week 1
• Communication – introducing markers, cues and learning what motivates your hound
• Engagement – how to get their attention and respond to their name
• Lead handling – how to use it to better communicate and how to manage a long lead
• Play – find a way to play that your hound finds meaningful
Week 2
• Long lead – introduction to using a long lead successfully
• Adding distractions – set them up to succeed by understanding how to increase distractions gradually
• Group walk – walking around the school grounds and closer to the other hounds
• Recall finish – adding the finish position into your recall
